One year of Mamata Banerjee's "Ma Mati Manush" government in West Bengal, a remarkable achievement and fulfillment of promises by Trinamool Congress to people of Bengal... which acknoledged by world as Time Magagin & Hillary Clinton recognized it!!

Mamata Banerjee & her Trinamool led “Ma Mati Manush”‘s government walked into the West Bengal’s state secretariat from Raj Bhavan surrounded by a sea of supporters and common people on May 20, 2011. Cut to May, 2012. The hope of a better society and administration seems to be fulfilled by her to a greater extend.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has had an eventful year with Time magazine counting her among the world's 100 most powerful people. Back home she has proved herself the agent of change, which she purported herself to be.

She can truly take credit for is the curbing of the Maoist movement in West Bengal.

Combining armed forces' operations against the extremists with the promise of development, Mamata Banerjee managed to subdue the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), which, for more than three years, had perpetrated a reign of terror in the forested tribal areas of the contiguous districts of Pashchim Medinipur, Bankura and Purulia, commonly known as the Jangalmahal region.
Manoranjan Mahato of Purnapani village in the area said, “The days of terror and tension are over. Now we can return home at night even alone.”
There have only been four cases of murder by the Maoists since May 2011, when the Trinamool Congress came to power. The last killing took place more than six months ago in Purulia. Incidence of violence has also reduced drastically. This is a huge change from the situation in 2009 and 2010 when killings, abductions and intimidation were the order of the day in the Jangalmahal region. In 2009, there were 255 incidents of Maoist violence as against 35 in the previous year, and West Bengal was ranked fourth in the Centre's list of Maoist-affected States, after Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

Historic Gorkhaland Territorial Agreement signed, which is a tripartite agreement between the Central Government, the State Government and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha and peace returns in Darjeeling. People such as taxi driver Pasang Tamang of Darjeeling have reasons to celebrate. “We are happy that there is peace in the hills (being credited to the CM) and the tourists are back, boosting our business prospects.”

To her credit, she ordered overhauling of the education system and formed a mentor group for Presidency University with Nobel laureate Amartya Sen at the helm. The CM also initiated a child-friendly syllabus and changed the marking system in secondary and higher secondary level.

Artist Suvaprasanna, feels “There is new life in the administration and all-round development has been undertaken in all spheres.”

Mamata didi has indeed done some remarkable work in social sector which has earned her a stable support in the rural Bengal. Even, Sudha Pillai, Member Secretary, Planning Commission has said that WB tops the list of states in terms of development of the backward regions. We are also witnessing faster pace of work of the municipalities in many areas.

Creation of four police commissariats, arranging jobs for 5,000 adivasi youths and implementation of rural developmental schemes are some of the "achievements" of Trinamool government in last one year.

But the hue and cry that has been raised by the corporate media that anarchy is prevailing in this state is baseless and motivated. The ABP group is so loud against Mamata as because she arrested the bunch of criminals of AMRI who have played with the lives of patients over the last 10 years and killed 92 of them in fire, also Didi is not allowing middlemans in all sector which is hurting ABP group.

For this criticism Didi replied "Some, of course, are not able to take our progress against these odds in the proper spirit. Those publicity-mongering fault-finders are taking resort to false propaganda, slander and even conspiracies that effect people adversely. What were they doing for so many years? Taking a nap?"

Among another remarkable achievement Trinamool-led Government lifted cess on LPG to relieve common people of the state. Petroleum prices roll back after the Maa-Mati-Manush Government protested against the hike.

Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal Government to make singur land deal public. Later on the historic Singur Land Rehabilitation and Development Bill passed in Assembly. Singur Land Rehabilitation and Development Bill signed by the Governor, the Bill is transformed in to an Act. Although at present due to a case by Tatas (instigated by lefts as former leftist Mayor is one of the lawyer who opposing it)  in Kolkata High Court delaying this process.
Chief Minister and her govt set a new work culture.
Didi even told “If an MLA says he doesn`t want to work for people, I do not want him. If any MP or councilor says the same, there is no place for them in the party. People are our resource. You have to work for them. You have to take them into confidence. Do this and leave the rest to me and my government. Do not disappoint poor people”.

Trinamool govt also added Joka and Sector V to Kolkata Municipal Corporation network. And make Kolkata Police in charge of all the 141 wards under KMC, decision taken in the cabinet meeting. Beautification of Kolkata also project for beautification of Kolkata riverside also taken.

Didi & her govt well-tackled the natural calamity with utmost urgency and flood situation became under control, also proper rescue operation done in effected areas.

Chief Minister also forms two-member committee to submit suggestions on its formulation regarding setting up of a land bank.

US secretary of state Hillary Clinton recalled meeting with West Bengal chief minister Mamata Benerjee as one of the "remarkable experiences" in India, including a to focus on efforts for the upliftment & empowerment of women. During her visit to West Bengal last week, Clinton recalled she "had two remarkable experiences - meeting the newly elected chief minister, a woman who, on her own, started a new political party and built that political party over many years.” Mamata Banerjee, she noted, had “successfully ousted the incumbent Communist Party that had been in office for 30, 34 years or so, and who is trying to govern a state with 90 mn people in it.”

In fact Mamata Banerjee & her “Ma Mati Manush”‘s government has already given a new hope to people of West Bengal. There is a sense of relief. In Didi's word "We have complited 10 years of work in first 10 months. Now we will only monitor".

  1. Nomoskar... I am a common people from North Bengal, Watching the position of some area is getting worst due to negligence of the local authority. Roads are most bad condition, drainage system broken, when we are going to talk about this with local authority, they [ these people always came with a beautiful smile before the election ] are completely neglected the issue. Personally I think Hon. Chief Minister should visit these area without any advance program schedule, and only then these type of local so called leaders face may unmask. We have much more hope from Hon Chief Minister [Mamata didi]. Madam Please Change this fake masked system. We know you can do !! Please, after a long time we found someone like you.
